In 1980, Apartments Mathraki Resort embarked on its journey with just two humble apartments. Over time, the resort expanded, incorporating 22 additional apartments, a refreshing swimming pool, and a delightful mill into its offerings. In 2019, two extra apartments and two Maisonettes were introduced, followed by the addition of a charming cellar-themed apartment in 2022. To enhance the overall experience, a cozy tavern was opened, transforming it into a delightful all-encompassing holiday destination.

The Founders

George and Maria Argyros, formerly residing and operating a Manhattan diner in New York, chose to return to their Corfu roots with a simple aspiration: to establish a business that would tether them to their home. Presently, their sons, Nikos and Dimitris, ardently lead the family business. Notably, George and Maria continue to indulge their passion for cooking in the restaurant, sharing their love for exceptional food with the guests.

Mathraki Island

The name ‘Mathraki’ comes from a small and secluded island North-West of Corfu. It’s a quiet paradise with beautiful views and home to the Argyros family. The permanent population is less than 100 people with younger generations mostly residing in Corfu and in New York. If you would like to visit Mathrski, the boat trip from Agios Stefenos port will take about 25 minutes.
